EAGLE-POWER is a 2-part integrated speed and strength introduction program designed specifically for youth football players entering the 6th, 7th and 8th grades. It will allow them the ability to become proficient in the “age-appropriate” elements of the EPHS Strength & Conditioning program.
- EAGLE-SPEED; will focus on the speed, agility and the development of overall efficient athletic movement. These sessions are open to all 6th, 7th & 8th graders.
- EAGLE-STRENGTH; will focus on the basic “age-appropriate” strength training principals, teaching proper form and technique of weight lifting and strength development. These sessions are open to ONLY 7th & 8th graders.
EAGLE-POWER programs will be directed by Blake Freese (B.S., CSCS), the new Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Eden Prairie football program. Blake is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength Coaches Association (NSCA). He is a former EP All-Conference and collegiate All-Conference football player, who was also a member of ESPN’s collegiate Academic All-America Team.

EAGLE-SPEED will meet Mondays & Thursdays on the EPHS stadium field.
EAGLE-STRENGTH will meet Tuesdays & Fridays in the EPHS weight room.
PLEASE NOTE: There will be NO SPEED OR STRENGTH sessions July 3-7 and during the week of Mike Grant Football camps.

NEEDS: Athletic gear according to weather, water bottle & shoes/cleats (shoes/cleats for SPEED & traditional workout shoes for STRENGTH sessions)

HOW TO REGISTER: Sign up and pay through the EPFA website or send check (payable to Blake Freese, memo Eagle Speed & Power). Then, Fill out the registration form and liability waiver, mail and send with to Eden Prairie High School activities office (ATTN: Blake Freese/Eagle SPEED & POWER) at the address above. You can also bring the forms on the first day (NO ATHLETE will be able to participate until forms are in).
NOTE: If you have previously filled out waiver and forms, you do not have to again.
